It was the late'50s when youth met in the coolest and naive living rooms and basements of North Kensington in London. Here, guys from good family or less came together to chat, play and listen to music, smoke, and talk about life according to most philosophical meanings more or less filtered by the media. They wore white shirts and blouses, sometimes brightened by a flash of color, sometimes with floral and ethnic prints, skirts from the appearance gypsy and dresses that were reminiscent of those disposed by a second-hand market. It was the desire for a libertine life against the conformism of the closing decade; it was the beginning of a new trend of costume that would accompanied the change in society and the advent of a new generation. Thus it was born the bohemian fashion, more commonly known as boho, an attitude popular among artists and the most eclectic personalities of continental Europe which proposed in a more glam style the outfit of homeless people who populated the streets of the cities of those countries, the bohemian (in French), or vagabonds. Broken boots and trousers, caps and floppy hats, consumed jackets and raincoats, from William Shakespeare to Sherlock Holmes and Winston Churchill, many have been described to adopt this "scruffy sought" look; however it was with cover celeb as the irreverent top Kate Moss and actress Sienna Miller, who adopted a folk inspired outfit at Glanstonbury festival in 2004, the boho found its more contemporary character and a chic dimension. Furthermore, if before this term was used to define a kind of fashion strongly inspired by the street and clothes torn gypsies, today it shows a mix of influences that take a bit 'from the rock, from the preppy and the country, remaining however faithful also to hippie and british style. Then, space to leather, to denim, To suede, in addition to laces, natural fibers (Liuta, linen, canvas, cotton), crochet, and batjk.
Many people choose this style because they recognize it as the form of expression of your spirit, free from the patterns of the conventions and humdrum of life forced on urban architecture. To conclude, if you love nature, to travel around the world, not just looking at what you see but go beyond, you are defenitly boho inside.
